Ведущий 1. Dear friends! We are opening the week of foreign languages.
Ведущий 2. It has become a tradition to hold it in spring. Do you know why?
Ведущий 1. Surely! We associate this season with rejoicing and rebirth and hope.
Ведущий 2. You are quite right. Spring makes us better and makes us want to be better!
Ведущий 1. It isn't surprising. Everything awakens from its long winter sleep. The very word "spring" sounds like a stream of clear water. All the colours are gentle, soft and bright.
Ведущий 2. And our hearts are full of high feelings and emotions.
Ведущий 1. Olya, you are prettier than the sunset, you are nicer than spring, you are brighter than millions of stars!
Ведущий 2. Thank you for the compliment! Do you really think so?
Ведущий 1. Of course, I do. Look at our girls and teachers! They do look nice.
Because it is spring now, the time of beauty, dreams and love.
Ведущий 2. So today we shall devote our concert to love, spring, youth and hope.
Ведущий 1. You will listen to beautiful English poetry, admire Spanish, Polish and English songs, enjoy pieces of English drama and smile at witty anecdotes.
Ведущий 2. So we invite you to the wonderful world of music, poetry and art.

Ведущий 1. You mean that the pupil of the 11th form Svetlana Kushnaryova has just come from the Republican Olympiad in foreign languages which was held in Minsk?
Ведущий 2. Yes, of course. It has become a tradition for the students of our gymnasium to participate in the Olympiads and the international contests and to become winners. Meet the winners of the previous years.

Ведущий 2. Do you? Than, it’s high time to listen to the Spanish song "De Colores". I’m sure you will admire the girls’ bright costumes and dancing. You will find yourself in Spain, the country of beautiful brave people, picturesque scenery and passionate feelings.

Ведущий 1. Spring is coming, isn’t it? And it brings new emotions and feelings. Your spirits are high, the feeling of optimism is overwhelming and love rules the world.
Ведущий 2. The language of poetry has always been love. Time is flying, the world is changing, but the eternal issues for admiration are still love, beauty, devotion, passion. We want you to listen to some immortal poems that have survived through ages and inspire artists and lovers.

Ведущий 1. Love is beauty, love is tragedy, but very often it’s an ironical comment and a witty anecdote.
